Crews Extinguish Fire At Business In Wallingford
It was the third structure fire reported in Wallingford within a seven-hour period, according to officials.
WALLINGFORD, CT — Crews extinguished a fire at a chemical factory in Wallingford early Thursday morning, according to officials.
The Wallingford Fire Department responded around 1 a.m. to Allnex at 528 South Cherry St. on the report of a structure fire.
It was the third structure fire reported in Wallingford within a seven-hour period, according to officials.

First-arriving units reported a working fire on the roof of a building.
“The fire was extinguished by on-duty crews along with East Wallingford and North Farms volunteers,” officials wrote in a news release. “The City of Meriden and Town of North Haven were requested for mutual aid.”

No injuries were reported, officials said.
The fire is being investigated by the Wallingford Fire Marshal’s Office.
WFSB 3 reports the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s Emergency Response Unit also responded to the scene to “assess any environmental impacts and assist with hazardous materials concerns.”
There were no concerns about any environmental impact, according to WFSB.
