Obituary: Bertha S. Clementel, 101; Formerly Of Wallingford
Bertha served as an officer of the Polish Falcons of Meriden and was also a longtime parishioner of SS. Peter and Paul Church.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Bertha S. Clementel 101, formerly of Wallingford, passed away peacefully November 7, 2020, in Indiana.
She was the beloved wife of the late James H Clementel.
Bertha was born in Bridgeport, December 10, 1918, a daughter of the late Mark and Catherine (Fortuna) Stasiewski and had been a resident of Wallingford most of her adult life before moving to Indiana in 2014.
Bertha worked at New Departure doing WWII.
After the war Bertha worked alongside her husband building single family homes in Durham for many years.
Bertha was an officer of the Polish Falcons of Meriden, also a longtime parishioner of SS. Peter and Paul Church.
She enjoyed watching the NY Yankees and UConn Women’s Basketball.
While retired she spent part of winters in Florida and part of summers in Cape Cod with her husband.
Bertha is survived by her daughter Kathryn “Kitty” and her husband Frederick Smith, of Indiana; her grandchildren Jennifer (Duggan) Kennedy of Nova Scotia; Brian (Demetria) Smith, of Indiana; great grandchildren Brady Kennedy, Lucy Kennedy and Jude Smith; her sister Genevieve Duncan of Meriden; her sister-in-law Theresa Stasiewski of Wallingford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister Helen Inserra and her three brothers Joseph, Walter and Alfred Stasiewski.
Interment will be private at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Wallingford. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral.
