Obituary: Gloria Faith Prigitano, 89, of Wallingford

Gloria, referred to as "Super Mom" by her devoted family, worked for the Union Trust Bank for many years, retiring as a Vice President.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Gloria Faith Prigitano, 89, of Wallingford, wife of Rocco S. Prigitano, passed away May 1, 2021 at Regency House in Wallingford.

She was born in Buffalo, New York on December 12, 1931, a daughter of the late Henry and Millicent (Wales) Hope.

Gloria was a “Super Mom” raising her four children doing everything from sewing costumes to volunteering for many of the children’s and community events.

Once the children were older, she went to work for the Union Trust Bank for many years and retired as a Vice President.

Gloria was a very kind hearted women always taking care of relatives and friends when needed. She loved travel, especially cruises always participating in the activities aboard. She had an adventurous side that had her snorkeling, swimming with the dolphins, and even going for a hot air balloon ride in her 70’s.

In addition to her husband, Rocco, she is survived by her son, Anthony J. Erdos IV, daughters, Patricia Palmer, husband Steve, Laurie Erdos-Abbott, husband Arthur; son-in-law Robert Kilsby; step-sons, Vincent Prigitano, wife Sue, Mark Prigitano, wife Stacy; sisters, Marion DelCamp, Margaret Hope, Shirley Dove; grandchildren, Christopher LaCroix, Mitchell and Mason Prigitano. She was predeceased by her sisters, Geraldine Sawyer and Millicent Lodge, and oldest daughter, Pamela Kilsby.

Her family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 9am until 10:30am.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday directly at Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford. You can view her funeral Mass via livestream by going to her webpage at www.wallingfordfh.com at 11 am on Saturday.

Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
