Obituary: Luisa Cuomo Pannone, 85, of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Luisa Cuomo Pannone, 85, of Wallingford, died Saturday, June 25, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio “Tony” Pannone.

She was born in Agerola in the Naples, Province of Italy January 30, 1937, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Annuziata (Villani) Cuomo and stepdaughter of late Maria Fusco Cuomo. She was a parishioner of Church of the Resurrection.

Luisa came to America at the age of 17. She worked very hard to make a living in America at various jobs. She went to night school to learn English where she met her husband.

She became a housewife where she loved to cook, gardening and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and caring for all types of animals.

Luisa is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Ian Reilly; her two sons and daughter-in-law, Paul and Rose Pannone, and Bernard Pannone, all of Wallingford; her eight grandchildren, Cristina Perrelli (Michael), Anthony Pannone (Kelly), Julia Pannone, Joseph Reilly, Maria Reilly, Angela Reilly, Sophia and Serena Pannone; plus, her great grandchildren Matteo and Luca Perrelli, Rosaria Pannone.

Her sister’s and brother’s Carmalina DiNatale, Annamaria Porto, Salvatore Cuomo, Emilio Cuomo, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Antonio “Tony” Pannone, brother Matteo Cuomo; and grandson, Michael Reilly.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext, Wallingford CT, Thursday, June 30th, 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road Wallingford CT, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m.

Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave in North Haven CT. Gifts in her memory may be sent to Nancy Reilly and will be distributed to different charities, 4 Anna Dr Wallingford CT, 06492.
