Obituary: Otto R. Saier, 76, of Wallingford
Otto, a devoted family man and avid sports fan, worked many years for both for the Yalesville Sanitation Company and Maytyme Farm Inc.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Otto R. Saier, 76, of Wallingford, husband of Alice Brunetti Saier for 52 years, passed away, peacefully, April 20, 2022 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden.
Otto was born in Meriden, CT., on August 16, 1945, the son of the late Otto and Mary (Barta) Saier. He graduated from Notre Dame of West Haven in 1963.
He served in the Connecticut Army National Guard from 1967 until 1971. Otto was a lifelong NY Giants fan, as well as an avid NY Yankees, and UCONN Men's and Women's Basketball fan. You could always find him watching mostly any sporting event he could find on TV.
He enjoyed being outdoors, which is why he loved his job as a heavy equipment operator, during a career where he worked for Yalesville Sanitation Company, and Maytyme Farm Inc., of Yalesville.
He would always point out which properties or places he did work, over the last 45 years, and he would remember every last one of them.
He adored spending time with his grandchildren and would light up when they were around. He was a loving husband and father who cherished his time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Alice, he is survived by his son, Brian Saier and his wife, Kristin, of West Haven; his daughter, Mary Alice Saier of Middletown; his sisters, Joyce Milligan of Maryland and Linda Yasensky of Wallingford; his grandchildren, Alexander, Jonathan and Jenna Saier; and several nieces and nephews.
Otto’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 4 pm until 7 pm. (Masks are required).
Interment in St. John Cemetery will be private.
