Occupation:

Trial Attorney (24 Years)

Family:
Married to Rhonda Fishbein for 33 years

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
Member of Wallingford Town Council for Eight Terms (2010 to Present); Appointed by Governor Malloy to the CT Board of Firearm Permit Examiners 2012-2016; State Representative for the 90th General Assembly District for Five Terms (2016 to Present).

Why are you seeking this office?
To continue my quest for smaller government, lower taxes, and less interference in the day-to-day affairs of our law-abiding citizens.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Infrastructure improvements and maintenance. I will continue to scrutinize where we are, and suggest what we can be, within the confines of reasonable fiscal restraint.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I will let others speak for themselves but, I believe that I have a long successful track record of following my fundamental principles, and fighting for open and transparent government.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Bringing finality to the Board of Education's long-overdue plan(?) to build one high school even though after eight years they still cannot identify a site anywhere in the confines of our town. Meanwhile, our other schools are being neglected. A course must be charted with confidence and assurance. To date the Board has not come to us for funding, so the Town Council has not been able to be involved in the process. Hopefully, for the betterment of all: the taxpayers, the parents and the students, their quest will be set on a course that is best financially, geographically, and logistically, which serves the needs of all our citizen students.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My political resume is replete with evidence of success in following the fundamental principles of smaller government, lower taxes and less interference in the day-today affairs of our law-abiding citizens. I am the only member of the Town Council that voted against the significant tax increase our residents suffered this year. In fact, I am the only present member of the Town Council who has NEVER voted to increase taxes. I am also the only member that voted against the recent decision to give up certain local powers to the State of Connecticut with no prospect of getting those powers back.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
"Never a borrower or lender be," and "to thine own self be true."
