Occupation:

Assistant Director of Applied Biostatistics at the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation (Yale employee since 2012)

Family:
I am married (Christine, since 2000) and have 2 sons (Ian: 24 years old, Finn: 18 years old). Both of my sons attended Wallingford Public Schools, both graduates of Lyman Hall High School.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No, but my father Patrick Reynolds served on the Board of Education for multiple terms.

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
Yes, I was elected to the Wallingford Town Council in 2023.

Why are you seeking this office?
I am seeking re-election because I feel that I have made important contributions to our town government in my first term. I believe that my actions have earned me the right to serve again, I hope that the voters agree.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Long term planning and prioritizing projects.

I intend to continue to press our Council to make important moves in ensuring that we have a prosperous future. A future where our long term investments in education and infrastructure will have placed Wallingford in an advantaged space for decades to come.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I think that we are all uniquely qualified and care about our town.

The things that make me stand out as a candidate are my professional experience and background, my work ethic and commitment to the role and my record from my first term as someone that collaborates with Councilors to achieve important goals for Wallingford.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Long term planning and investment in our town- as well as seeking new streams of revenue to offset the burden on residential tax payers.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Part of my role in the last budget negotiation session led to a reduction in the planned tax increase from the Mayor's proposed budget. This accomplishment came from proposals initiated by myself on behalf of the Democratic minority and ultimately was a bipartisan effort.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Be yourself and be confident in your abilities.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I truly love being on the Town Council and would appreciate the opportunity to serve Wallingford again.

I use the phrase "People over Politics" in my campaign materials because I believe that the only way to move our town forward is if we treat everyone like our friends and neighbors- regardless of political party or political ideology.
