WALLINGFORD, CT — McDonald’s in Wallingford is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a month of specials and a special donation to the Wallingford YMCA.
McDonald’s kickstarted the celebration with a special event at the restaurant at 608 North Colony Rd. on Tuesday afternoon.
The festivities included giveaways, swag, face-painting, snacks, photo displays from the restaurant’s early years and a visit from Grimace.

Local Owner / Operator Ted Zafiris presented the Wallingford Family YMCA with a $50,000 donation to showcase his commitment to the community.
Nancy Miller, who has worked at the Wallingford McDonald’s location since the day it opened 50 years ago, was also honored at the event.

The month of specials (effective Oct. 21 to Nov. 21, limit 2 per order) includes the following:
Monday: 50-cent McDouble
Tuesday: 50-cent Hamburger/Cheeseburger
Wednesday: 50-cent Small Fry
Thursday: .50-cent Any Size Premium Coffee
Friday: .50-cent Hamburger/Cheeseburger
Saturday: 50-cent 4-piece Chicken Nuggets
