Wallingford Resident Earns GNAC Co-Player Of The Week Honors

The Lyman Hall graduate has been named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Week, officials announced Monday.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford’s Morgan Stone, a sophomore on the Albertus Magnus College men’s soccer team, was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Co-Player of the Week after his performance from Oct. 28 – Nov. 3, the school announced Monday.

Stone, a Lyman Hall graduate, was the hero for the Falcons in the 100th minute of the GNAC Quarterfinals as he headed in the game-winning goal to send his team to their first semifinals appearance since 2015 with a 2-1 victory over No. 7 Rivier.

The header came off of a corner kick from Johan Stagnaro of East Hartford.

Stone shared the GNAC Player of the Week honor with Bruno Texiera of Johnson and Wales (JWU).

The second-seeded Falcons will host No. 3 JWU on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. with a spot to the GNAC Championship Game on the line.
