2 Seriously Injured In Waterford Wreck: Police

Two drivers were seriously injured in a Waterford accident Tuesday.

WATERFORD, CT β€” Two people were seriously injured in a car crash in Waterford on Tuesday, according to a police statement. Police, firefighters, and EMTs responded to a call at 4:30 p.m. reporting a wreck at 969 Hartford Turnpike/Route 85.

A preliminary investigation found that a head-on accident occurred in the southbound lanes involving two cars, both with the driver as the sole occupant. Both drivers were transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

Hartford Turnpike was closed until about 10 p.m.
