Concert For Kids, Paper Towels For Pups, Americans For Prosperity, And Let's Do Lunch!

1. Today will be sunny with a few clouds this afternoon and more this evening, a high temperature of 83 degrees and an overnight low of 63 degrees. There's a 20 percent chance of rain during the day, dropping to a 10 percent chance of rain tonight, according to weather.com. In short, it should be a bit more livable. 

2. The forecast bodes well for tonight's Concert at Waterford Beach Park, and this is definitely one you'll want to bring the kids to because it's Steve Elci and friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

3. The newly-formed Southeastern Connecticut Chapter of Americans for Prosperity (AFP) will be holding its first ever meeting tonight at Waterford Public Library at 7 p.m. According to the group's press release, AFP is a national organization that believes in economic freedom and opportunity and thinks that reducing the size and scope of government is the way to achieve it. You can find out more here.
 
4. If you're passing by the Waterford/East Lyme Animal Control today on your way to do some shopping, the shelter could really use some paper towels. These are vital (for obvious reasons) and the shelter ran out yesterday. All donations gratefully accepted (the shelter pretty much runs on donations).
