• Waterford Police Chief Makes Announcement On Career Future (patch.com) — Waterford’s longtime Police Chief Marc Balestracci is planning to retire in the next few months after 25 years with the department, including four as chief. He says the department is strong and will work closely with the Board of Police Commissioners and leadership team to ensure a smooth transition to the next chief, while thanking residents and town officials for their support. 
• Latest Round Of GameStop Closings Involves 5 Connecticut Locations (patch.com) — GameStop is closing five more Connecticut stores this month, continuing a multi-year pullback from brick-and-mortar locations as more gamers buy digitally. The company previously shut several other state stores in 2024, including one in Waterford, and says more closures are likely as it restructures to address falling revenue and changing customer habits.
