Severe Thunderstorm Watch For Our Area Includes Special Advisory For Boaters

Don't let those blue skies fool you. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for New London county, in effect until 9 p.m. tonight.

The National Weather Service has also issued a hazardous weather conditions advisory for boaters in Long Island Sound, where high winds, high waves, and thunderstorms are likely this afternoon. The storm is moving up the coast from New York and is predicted to be heading our way after 3 p.m. Boaters are advised to seek shelter in harbors to reduce their risk.
