Waterford All-Stars 14s Take On New England

Waterford All-Stars 14-year-olds are state champs! The team bested the Stamford Thunder in the Babe Ruth League state tournament final game by a whopping 11-3 to become state champions on Tuesday.

"We've always had good pitching and defense. But our hitting is blossoming at exactly the right time," Waterford manager Ed Pinch told the Stamford Advocate. 

Waterford is now heading to the New England Championship, which will begin on Friday in Marlborough, Mass.  

"I tip my cap to Waterford," Stamford Thunder Manager Butch Lamotta told the Stamford Advocate. "We played them a doubleheader back in June. And we didn't see this Waterford. Man, they really hit. They are certainly ready to do damage in the New Englands."
