Waterford Lowers Speed Limit On State Road
The town requested state approval to lower the speed limit on a stretch of road that includes schools, two parks, a fire house, and more.
WATERFORD, CT β The town has lowered the speed limit on a stretch of road. The speed limit on Route 156 (Rope Ferry Road) between North Road and Boston Post Road has been lowered from 35 mph to 30 mph.
The chief of police in consultation with town officials had requested a review of the speed limit on the state road a few months back.
The chief was asking for the speed limit to be lowered to 25 mph due to the increased use of facilities and crosswalks, according to a police department Facebook post.
