That ambitious project, though, requires funding to do so.

Through the Connecticut Humanities Council, cities and towns have the opportunity to raise funds during a 250-hour period that runs from July 1 to July 11, which is this Friday.

As of Wednesday, the effort had raised $3,454 en route to a $10,000 goal, so folks and organizations have a bit of work to do.
