Hartford Marathon This Weekend To Impact West Hartford Too
Multiple streets in West Hartford will be closed as the Hartford Marathon will also bring runners through the town.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Saturday's Hartford Marathon mostly takes place in Connecticut's capital city, but the course does bring runners through the city's neighbor .. West Hartford.
As a result, West Hartford officials are warning residents and travelers about some traffic impacts expected on Saturday, Oct. 11.

A portion of the route passes through West Hartford and will cause temporary road closures.
The following roads will be closed to traffic from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

- Fern Street (Prospect Avenue to Penn Drive)
- Penn Drive
- Asylum Avenue (Penn Drive to Prospect Avenue)
- Elizabeth Park Road
- Prospect Ave (Fern Street to Asylum Avenue)
As soon as roads are clear of runners, some roads will open earlier than 9:30 a.m. (i.e., Fern Street).
Adjacent roads will also be affected.
"Please expect delays and detours. When possible, police will direct cross-traffic during the race," wrote the town on Thursday.
