Special West Hartford Concert Free For Veterans

The West Hartford Symphony Orchestra is performing a special show on Saturday, May 17, which is Armed Forces Day.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The local orchestra is putting on a special concert this Saturday to honor the military, with local veterans able to enjoy the show for free.

The West Hartford Symphony Orchestra is inviting all veterans to its Pops Concert on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 17.

As part of the program, the orchestra is offering free tickets for veterans.

"Enjoy uplifting music and heartfelt tribute as we recognize your service," wrote the town in an event announcement.

The show will be at Northwest Catholic High School, 29 Wampanoag Drive, West Hartford, at 7 p.m.

The concert features mezzo-soprano Abby White performing Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music” and “So in Love” by Cole Porter.

The concert will salute the "Big Band Era" and highlight the musical themes of the James Bond 007 series, along with a tribute to U.S. troops through the classic “Victor at Sea” and more.

Call 860-521-4362 to reserve your two complimentary tickets for veterans. Pick them up at the Northwest Catholic High School lobby on the evening of the performance. General admission is $20, $15 for seniors/students. Children under 12 are free.
