“This year, West Hartford was recognized as the 19th best place to live in the United States and the number 1 best place to live in Connecticut. Fostering a great community doesn’t just happen. The leadership and vision of our Democratic led municipal government have made our town a great place to live, work, raise a family, and retire,” said West Hartford Democratic Town Committee Chairman Peter Andrews in a statement released Thursday.

"As we approach early voting and Election Day, our Democratic candidates and dedicated volunteers will campaign in every neighborhood to connect with voters and convey the importance of strong Democratic majorities on the Town Council and the Board of Education. Given the chaos and cruelty coming from D.C., now more than ever, our community deserves a local government that reflects our shared values and priorities."

"Candidate quality matters, and we are excited about our three newcomers: Lisa Lazarus for Town Council and Jennifer Herz and Jonathan Weiner for Board of Education,” said party vice chairperson Megan Wallett.

“All of these candidates bring valuable experience and fresh perspectives. If elected, we know they will listen to the community and work hard to deliver results for West Hartford residents."

West Hartford Republicans have yet to announce their slate, with the local GOP posting on its website that it is still vetting hopefuls after a July 11 application deadline.

Election Day for municipal elections is Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025.
