City Shooting Spree Continues As 2nd Man Shot In Hartford Monday: Police

The late-afternoon incident was the second shooting in the city of the day and the third major shooting since Dec. 20.

HARTFORD, CT — City police are investigating yet another shooting in Hartford, this one happening late Monday afternoon, Dec. 22, the third shooting in the city since late Saturday.

According to the Hartford Police Department, officers responded to a call at 4:17 p.m. near 353 Campfield Ave. for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police said.

The victim, a male in his 30s, was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded to the scene and have assumed control of the investigation.

It was the second shooting of the day in the city, with the HPD also investigating a shooting with similar results on Benton Street at 1:17 a.m. Monday.

One male victim was also taken to the hospital suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday night, Dec. 20, a woman was critically injured after being hit by gunfire late at night on Barbour Street.
