Today, an estimated 70 million Americans — about 25 percent of the population — are protected under the ADA.

The Town of West Hartford, with support from the Boston-based Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD), will conduct a comprehensive ADA self-evaluation and develop a transition plan.

As a result, West Hartford will assess town facilities and programs to ensure compliance with the ADA.

"We value your input in this process. Your feedback will help shape a more inclusive community for all residents," wrote the town in an announcement.

“Facilities” being evaluated include public buildings such as West Hartford Town Hall, libraries, and parks, while “programs” encompass services like the town’s food pantry, senior center events, and camps.

Those who need this survey in an alternative format or require additional accommodations to participate can contact ADA Coordinator Suzanne Oslander at SuzanneO@westhartfordct.gov or 860-561-7580.
