West Hartford Seeks Memorial Day Parade Particpants
The event will take place on Monday, May 27.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Organizers of the town's annual Memorial Day parade are looking for parade participants at month's end to march and honor those who have paid the supreme sacrifice.
"West Hartford takes great pride in hosting its Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony annually on the federal holiday, the last Monday of May," wrote the town in an announcement.

"It follows a tradition established by returning West Hartford veterans from World War I in the 1920s."
The Memorial Day Parade is at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 27, and it starts at the corner of Woodrow Street and Farmington Avenue. It ends at West Hartford Town Hall on South Main Street.

All veterans are welcome to march in the parade.
Non-profit and civic organizations may also participate, especially those with a veteran or military focus or purpose.
It should be noted the Memorial Day Parade is not a platform for commercial advertising or political statements.
In the event of rain, the parade is canceled and the ceremony is moved to the town hall auditorium at 11 a.m.
