West Hartford Woman and Three Children Struck by Pick-Up

All four pedestrians were treated at area hospitals with what police have said are minor injuries.

A West Hartford woman and her three children were struck by a pick-up truck on New Park Ave. at approximately 11:12 a.m. Friday, West Hartford Police said.

Yuan Bi Lin, 33, of 38 Foley St., West Hartford, and her three children ages 10, 8, and 6, were crossing New Park Ave. from Foley St. in the area between Dunkin' Donuts and Advanced Auto Parts. According to police, they were struck by a pick-up truck driven by David Braga, 63, of Manchester, that was exiting the parking lot of 450 New Park Ave.

The pedestrians were not walking in a crosswalk, police said.

According to police, the pedestrians were struck "at a slow speed." All sustained minor injuries, including scrapes and abrasions.

Yuan Bi Lin was transported to Hartford Hospital, and the three children were transported to Connecticut Children's Medical Center, police said. The driver of the pick-up was not injured.

All parties were cooperative, and police are continuing to investigate. Anyone who witnessed the accident is encouraged to call the West Hartford Police Traffic Division at 860-523-2007.
