2 Beaches Remain Closed To Swimming, Fishing In West Haven

Several beaches have reopened after being temporarily closed, according to the West Haven Health Department.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Two beaches in West Haven remain temporarily closed to swimming and fishing due to heavy rain and elevated bacteria levels, officials said in an update Thursday.

The West Haven Health Department also announced that it has reopened several city beaches that had been temporarily closed.

The following West Haven beaches have reopened:

Morse Avenue and Lake Street beaches will remain temporarily closed while they are retested Friday morning, according to the health department.

Officials said the water quality lab results are expected Saturday.

The health department will notify the public once the closure of the two beaches is lifted, according to officials.
