Dance Studio Celebrates 10th Anniversary In West Haven
The dance studio, which hosts several programs, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with community and state representatives.
WEST HAVEN, CT — Viva Dance & Fitness Center for the Arts recently celebrated its 10th anniversary at its location at 243 Captain Thomas Blvd. in West Haven.
The dance studio, owned by Kelvia A. Flores, was awarded a citation in 2024 by Connecticut Attorney General William Tong, and received recognition from the State of Connecticut and U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal’s office earlier this month at its 10th anniversary.

Viva Dance & Fitness Center for the Arts is a community-based arts center in West Haven, dedicated to serving as a safe haven for the community. Through a collaborative group of artists, the center uses various art forms to enhance self-esteem, build confidence, foster positive socialization, and promote physical fitness.
As a Christian dance center, Viva focuses on using the gifts of the Holy Spirit to spread love while providing a safe space for community members to heal through dance, movement, and connection. Serving students from ages 4 to 76, Viva is a hub for learning skills that support a lifetime of health, creativity, and community engagement.

Event Highlights:
On Jan. 2, Viva celebrated its 10th anniversary as a self-funded artistic community outreach center. On Jan. 4, community members and state representatives gathered to recognize the center’s decade of humanitarian work, outreach services, and contributions to cultural arts education.
