Dog Abandoned In West Haven, Owner Sought: Animal Shelter

The dog was initially found roaming, but officials said they've learned that the dog was removed from a car and the driver drove away.

WEST HAVEN, CT — The West Haven Animal Shelter is asking for help with information regarding an abandoned dog.

The dog was found in the area of Peck Lane and Leete Street on Saturday, June 7. Officials initially said the female dog was found wearing a red harness, no tags and wasn’t microchipped.

In an update Wednesday, the animal shelter said in a post on Facebook that it “has come to our attention that this sweet girl was removed from a car and the driver proceeded to drive away.”

The vehicle was described as a possible Green SUV, and was said to have happened around 8 p.m. on June 7, according to the animal shelter.
