Driver Seriously Injured After Crash On I-95 In West Haven: State PD

The driver was ejected from the vehicle after crashing into two light poles, several signs, and trees, according to police.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A driver was seriously injured after crashing into two light poles, several signs, and trees early Sunday morning on I-95 in West Haven, according to Connecticut State Police.

State troopers responded around 3:45 a.m. on May 12 to a crash in the area of Exit 42 on I-95 North in West Haven.

Police said an investigation found that the driver of a 2015 BMW 435i Gran Coupe Year was speeding and veered off the right side of the road.

The BMW collided with two light poles, several state department of transportation signs, and several trees, according to police.

Police said the driver, a 25-year-old East Haven man, was ejected from the BMW and taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
