ID Released Of Person Killed In Crash With West Haven Police Officer
The crash occurred early Monday on Derby Avenue in West Haven.
WEST HAVEN, CT — A 23-year-old woman has been identified by West Haven police as the person who was killed early Monday in a two-vehicle crash with a police cruiser, the New Haven Register reported.
Panjala Neeraj Goud was a passenger in a vehicle that slammed into the police cruiser, seriously injuring an officer. The police vehicle was parked at a Citgo gas station on Derby Avenue in West Haven when the 2:20 a.m. crash occurred.
The driver of the Hyundai Elantra was also seriously injured. Both the officer and driver of the Hyundai are expected to recover, according to authorities.

West Haven police are investigating the crash, but the preliminary findings indicate the driver of the Hyundai lost control of the vehicle due to slippery road conditions.
