Man Burglarized Restaurants In West Haven: Police
The man is accused of smashing windows to break into two restaurants in West Haven, according to police.
WEST HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man is accused of burglarizing two restaurants in West Haven last month, according to police.
Police said that Oak Beach Bar and Grill on Captain Thomas Boulevard was burglarized during the overnight hours on Dec. 29.
The suspect broke a window, climbed inside, and stole approximately $500, according to police.

Police said that Apps Restaurant, also on Captain Thomas Boulevard, was also reported to be burglarized on the same day, around 2:20 a.m.
The suspect again broke a window, gained entry, and stole the cash register, according to police. It was later determined that the cash register was empty, police said.

Robert Vitelli, 49, was identified as the suspect following an “extensive investigation,” according to police.
Vitelli, who police said was already incarcerated on charges in connection with a restaurant burglary in Orange, was arrested Friday on two arrest warrants.
He was charged with third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny in connection with the Oak Beach Bar and Grill burglary.
In the Apps Restaurant burglary, Vitelli was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal, and sixth-degree larceny.
