Obituary: Carmen L. Calandro, 55, Of West Haven

Carmen, known as kindhearted, for his work ethic and love of family, was a member of the International Union for Painters and Allied Trades.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home): Carmen L. Calandro, 55, of West Haven, died unexpectedly on July 1, 2022. Born in New Haven on January 2, 1967, a son of (the late) Joseph Angelo and Rose (Parise) Calandro.

In addition to his loving mother, Carmen is survived by his adoring fiancé Angela Durand; beloved children Rose M., Anthony, Matthew, and Ashley Calandro; granddaughter Addison Calandro; sister Cheryl (William) Treloar; brother Joseph Calandro; as well as many dear friends.

Carmen embarked on his career as a glazier with Anderson Glass, and after 15 years of service, proudly became a member of the International Union for Painters and Allied Trades- District Council 11. A quintessential ‘Westie’, Carmen lived most of his life in West Haven, very much enjoying his friends and community.

He loved life and believed in living it to the fullest potential.

Carmen will best be remembered for many things; his sweet and kindhearted ways, always willing to help anyone in need, and his unending work ethic.

Chiefly, he remained a loving family man and will forever remain in the hearts and mind of those closest to him.

Calling hours will take place on Thursday, July 7th, from three to seven o’clock. Interment will be private.
