Obituary: Carolyn Clemente, 79, of West Haven

Carolyn served over 30 years for the United States Postal Service and cherished spending time with loved ones, traveling and the 49ers.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Carolyn Clemente, 79, a resident of West Haven, passed away at home surrounded by family on August 18, 2021.

For 61 years, she was the loving wife of James Clemente.

Born on December 27, 1941 in New Haven, daughter of the late John and Esther Sullivan.

She was the loving mother of Renae Clemente of West Haven and James Clemente (Lori) of Killingworth, Nonna of John, Mark, Jillian, Jordan and Jimmy, sister of Frances (Joseph) Mulligan, aunt of Christine, John and Michele and sister-in-law of Kathleen.

Carolyn attended St. Francis and St. John Commercial before spending 30+ years working for the United States Postal Service.

Carolyn enjoyed traveling with her husband in her younger years.

She loved spending time with her family and spoiled her grandchildren on a daily basis.

Carolyn enjoyed watching her favorite NFL team, the San Francisco 49ers. In her later years, Carolyn loved spending her winters in Florida, watching her favorite shows on the Hallmark channel, and the occasional trip to the casino.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of St. Raphael’s Hospital and for the home care provided by Connecticut Hospice.

Visitation will take place on Monday, August 23 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. A funeral service will take place at 11AM at the parlor.

Entombment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
