Obituary: Evelyn J. Guarnieri, 93, of West Haven

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Evelyn J. Guarnieri, age 93, of West Haven passed away on August 23, 2021.

For 47 years, she was the wife of the late James J. Guarnieri. Evelyn was born in New Haven, daughter of the late Edward and Doria Marcotte Guay.

She is survived by her son Mark Guarnieri and his wife Michelle of Cheshire, her granddaughters Gina & Francesca Guarnieri, her daughter-in-law Marjorie Guarnieri of North Haven and her longtime friend Jean Wisniewski.

Evelyn was predeceased by her children, Guy Guarnieri and Michele Guarnieri, and her siblings Albert & Maurice Guay and Theresa Maher.

Evelyn was a graduate of West Haven High School and Whitney Secretarial School. She worked as an Executive Secretary for Centre Industries of Milford for twenty years, retiring in 1993. Evelyn was a charter member of the New Haven Sweet Adelines, and a member of the St. Louis Church Ladies Guild.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff members of The Linden at Woodbridge, for their compassionate care and love Evelyn was provided over the years.

The hours for visitation will held on Sunday from 3-5 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.

Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Monday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of St. Louis, St. John XXIII Parish at 10am.

Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, www.stjude.org.
