Obituary: Grace Mauro Campaniolo, 99, of West Haven

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From Porto Funeral Home) Grace Mauro Campaniolo 99, a lifelong resident of West Haven beloved wife of 70 years to the late Nicholas J. Campaniolo was called to heaven on March 4, 2022 surrounded by her loving family in Yale New Haven Hospital.

Grace was born in New Haven on August 20, 1922 daughter of the late Vincenzo and Guisseppa Civello Mauro. Grace was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Her life’s work as a homemaker was truly appreciated by her family. She enjoyed hosting yearly holidays and birthdays for her entire family.

Her specialties were traditional recipes and baking breads and Christmas cookies that she loved sharing. She had a special gift with words and entered several articles to the New Haven Register that were published in the opinion section.

Grace is survived by her loving daughters, Nancy Campaniolo of West Haven and Anita (Michael) Campaniolo Greco of Port Orange FL, three grandchildren Michael Nicholas Greco (Katie) of CA, Cynthia Angela Greco of FL, Sherri Lynn Greco Eisengrein (Harry) of Wallingford and four blessed great-grandchildren, Nicholas Adam Eisengrein, Lily Eliza, Zoe Isabel, and Michael James Greco, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Grace was also predeceased by four brothers, Caspari, Pasquale, Salvatore and Thomas Mauro, and three sisters, Ann Bock, Annette Giordano, and Jennie DiBiaso.

Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 830 Jones Hill Rd, West Haven Friday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church 300 Captain Thomas Blvd. West Haven at 11:00.
