Obituary: Raymond V. St. Clair Sr., 80 of West Haven

Ray worked as a market analyst at Armstrong Pirelli, was a member of the West Haven Irish American Club and the American Legion Post 196.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Raymond V. St. Clair Sr., 80 of West Haven entered into rest on July 26, 2021.

For the past 57 years, he was the beloved husband of Kathleen Bowler St.C lair. In addition to Kathy, Ray leaves his children Colleen St.Clair Weatherspoon, Raymond V. St. Clair Jr. (Louise Abate) and Christopher M. St.Clair (Kim Hackett).

He was a proud grandfather of Jordyn, Donovan and Morgan Weatherspoon, Jonathan Abate and Amelia Hackett and great grandfather of Derek Hill.

He will be sadly missed by all, including his longtime friends William and Susan Sarno and his many nieces and nephews.

A son of the late James and Florence Holland St. Clair, Ray was also predeceased by siblings Florence Leach, James and William St. Clair and Barbara O’Malley.

A resident of West Haven for many years, Ray was a past member of the West Haven Irish American Club. He served in the US Navy and was a member of American Legion Post 196, Milford.

Ray graduated from Hillhouse High School and Gateway Community College.

He retired from Armstrong Pirelli where he worked for many years as a market analyst.

Not one to remain idle for too long, Ray became a mail carrier working from the Fairfield Post Office.

Ultimately, he retired from his final job at the West Haven Board of Education.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning at 10 o’clock at Our Lady of Victory Church, St. John Vianney campus.

Military honors will be rendered at church following the mass.
