Five people were displaced from their home and a firefighter was injured after a 2-alarm fire in West Haven, according to multiple reports.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Five people were displaced from their home and a firefighter was injured after an early morning 2-alarm fire in West Haven, according to multiple reports.

WTNH News 8 reports crews responded around 5:30 a.m. to an apartment fire in the 200 block of Main Street, between Washington Avenue and Martin Street.

Two residents jumped from a second-story window to escape the fire, according to WFSB 3.

WFSB reports the two residents were the only occupants in that unit at the time, and escaped safely.

The firefighter sustained a minor injury and the American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents, according to WFSB.
