Obituary: Sammie L. Grable, 84, of West Haven

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From Adzima Funeral Home) Sammie L. Grable, age 84, of West Haven, beloved husband of Helen Mino Grable, passed away on February 28, 2022 in St. Raphael’s Hospital, New Haven, CT.

Sammie was born in Sparta, Georgia on June 4, 1937 to the late Clabe and Dude (Dee Harper) Grable and had been a longtime area resident. He was a retired manager for A&P Grocery Store for 53 years.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 42 years, include his devoted children Vanessa of Jacksonville, FL, Sam Jr. (Christy) of Buford, GA, Nicole of Hampton, VA, Monica (Alex) of Seymour, CT, Katherine (Ricky) of West Haven, CT, Michelle (Joel) of Branford, CT, and Victoria of West Haven, CT, 10 cherished grandchildren, a brother, Tommie (Elaine) Grable and a host of brother’s and sister’s -in-law and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Sammie was pre-deceased by his son, Victor, daughter, Troy, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Friends and family may visit on Friday, March 4th from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 5th at 9:30 a.m. meeting directly at Our Lady of Victory Church, 300 Captain Thomas Blvd, West Haven.

Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford.

Masks are required for all services.
