Obituary: Teresa (Terry) Mercugliano, 99, formerly of West Haven

Terry, always known for her kindness and generosity, was a dedicated homemaker, cherishing her loved ones unconditionally.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Teresa (Terry) Mercugliano, 99 years young, formerly of West Haven entered into rest on Sunday December 5, 2021, with her daughter Nancy, son-in-law Vinnie and granddaughter Shirley by her side.

She was the wife of the late Frank B. Mercugliano. Terry leaves a wonderful legacy of generations including her daughters Nancy Davitt-Cappetta (Vincent Cappetta) and Linda (the late Walter, Dee-Dee) Burns; her brother Anthony (Sonny) Esposito; 6 adored grandchildren Jessica and Kimberly Davitt, Shirley (Steve) Marcell, Dawn (Lee) Senberg, Kelly Burns-Turtzo, Gary (Amanda) Burns; 11 great grandchildren and 2 great,great grandchildren.

She also leaves several loving nieces and nephews that were always dear to her. Terry was predeceased by her brother Frank Esposito and his wife Vicki and her sister-in-law Barbara Esposito.

Until just last week, Terry began the day making sure her hair and makeup were just right and that she was dressed in a lovely outfit.

Her family brought her great joy and she will be remembered for her kindness and generosity.

She was devoted to them and always reached out to keep in touch.

Terry loved keeping her home beautiful.

She and her husband, Frank, enjoyed vacationing at resorts and RV seasonal camping.

Visitation will take place on THURSDAY Dec. 9, from 8:30 to 10:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, St. John Bosco Parish at 11 o’clock.

Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
