Oktoberfest Kicks Off Harugari's 150th Anniversary
150 Years of Tradition: Oktoberfest Fun and a Special Anniversary Event
Raise your steins—the Harugari German-American Club in West Haven, Conn., is turning 150 this year, and the celebration kicks off with their annual Oktoberfest on Sunday, October 5, beginning at noon.
One of the longest-running and most authentic Oktoberfest events in Connecticut, this beloved tradition has been delighting crowds since 1947. Guests can enjoy German specialties like wursts, potato pancakes, sauerkraut and pretzels, alongside pulled pork, hot dogs and classic German potato salad. German bier will be flowing on tap, with plenty of other beverage choices.
For just $5 admission—free for veterans and military—attendees can enjoy an afternoon packed with food, music and culture. The Vagabonds will keep the energy going with live music, while traditional German dancers add to the festive atmosphere. From raffles and keepsake beer steins to the camaraderie of a lively crowd, Harugari’s Oktoberfest promises an afternoon full of fun, flavor and heritage.
