WEST HAVEN, CT — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on I-95 North near Exit 42 in West Haven on Wednesday afternoon.

West Haven police advised motorists that traffic was being diverted onto city streets.

"Please allow extra time coming and going through the city," police wrote in a post on Facebook.
A portion of I-95 North in West Haven was closed due to a crash, but has since reopened, according to state transportation officials.
