Petals of Gratitude offers Free Service to Cancer Patients

Patients provided with Crocheted Flowers to Thank Healthcare Team

In the Fall of 2021, Jenny Crump of Texas was asked by a cancer patient to create 40 roses in two weeks to thank his healthcare team. Jennie asked for help from the crochet community and, amazed by the overwhelming response, the nonprofit organization, Petals of Gratitude was born. Today, the process to achieve nonprofit status is well underway, and in less than a year from its inauguration, the group has over 1,300 members throughout the United States and Canada. These volunteers have already created over 4500 flowers and have provided cancer patients with over 3500 flowers to give to their healthcare team members as a thank you for the care given during a most difficult journey. All requested flowers are either shipped or hand delivered to the patients completely free of charge. Each flower is tagged with the name and state of the crafter and any number of flowers can be requested up to 2 dozen during a 6 month period. If you, or someone you know, is a cancer patient and is interested in receiving flowers to give to show your appreciation, please visit https://petalsofgratitude.org to find out more about the organization and to fill out the rose request. You can also follow Petals of Gratitude on Facebook and Instagram. The organization is also interested in collaborating with hospitals, treatment centers and facilities. Representatives are encouraged to contact Petals of Gratitude.
