Robert Edward Riordan, 65 of Milford, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025.
Bob was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School West Haven and went on to serve the community of Milford as a police officer.

Robert Edward Riordan, 65 of Milford, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025. Bob was born on February 13, 1960 in New Haven, CT to the late Robert and Jean Jillson Riordan. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl O’Brien Riordan.
Bob was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School West Haven, Class of 1978. He went on to serve the community of Milford as a police officer for over 25 years, building lifelong friendships and making a meaningful difference in countless lives. After retiring from the police force, Bob took on a new role as a public safety officer at Quinnipiac University.
Bob enjoyed coaching high school sports, mentoring young athletes throughout Milford and beyond. In addition, he umpired and stayed active playing sports himself. Above all, Bob cherished time spent with family and friends. Bob was a member of many clubs including Milford Umpires Association and Milford Elks Lodge #1589. Known for his sharp wit, generous spirit, and kind heart, Bob always strived to leave the world a little better than he found it.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife Cheryl Riordan, son Ryan Riordan, and daughter Katherine Riordan. Siblings: Cathy Fuggi (Guy) and Kevin Riordan, brother-in-law Darrin O’Brien and father-in-law James O’Brien. Nieces and nephews: Jennifer Fuggi, Michelle Holmes, Shaun Meinzer, Emma Holmes, Danielle O’Brien, and Joe O’Brien. As well as many additional beloved family and friends.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, sister Brenda Riordan, mother-in-law Georgie O’Brien, and his beloved K-9 Blitz.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford CT 06460 (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Milford Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Milford Operation Mainstream (MOM) 26 Manor House Lane, Milford CT 06461.
