Student Sets Off Firework In Hallway At West Haven High School

WEST HAVEN, CT — A student was arrested after setting off a small firework in the hallway at West Haven High School on Monday, according to officials.

It was the first day of school for students.

Officials said no one was injured, and the situation was “dealt with accordingly.”

“High school security and the West Haven Police Department took immediate action to arrest the individual,” officials wrote in a statement posted on Twitter. “This is an important reminder that the West Haven Board of Education and the West Haven Police Department enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy.”
