West Haven Election 2025: Dawn Callahan Running For City Council

WEST HAVEN, CT — The 2025 municipal election is heating up in West Haven with plenty of races on the ballot.

Voters will cast their ballots in the Nov. 4 election for the position of mayor, along with seats on the City Council, Board of Education and more.

West Haven Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Dawn Callahan is running for re-election to the West Haven City Council as a Democrat.

Why are you seeking this office?
To help my community

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
public service and i intend to use our new public works director for insight, updates, and communication regarding each individuals needs

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Helping the city grow with new business and supporting our existing ones

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
As a mortgage loan officer I have only my clients' best interest at heart and that goes the same for my constitutes. Following the job through to accomplish our goals until the end

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I have been a professional ice skater and coach all my life with helping people reach their goals one step at a time. I am also in The Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and help run our leads group in WH for small business owners.
