Why are you seeking this office?
I have served the residents of West Haven in different capacities for several years. I feel it is a great time for me to take my talents to the Board of Ed to continue this work, and to serve the young people of West Haven.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Funding special education initiatives and programs. I intend to see where the districts shortfalls are and attempt to come up with solutions/suggestions to fill gaps as needed.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
My commitment to the community. I have served on several boards and commissions for West Haven and other non-profits. I am also the 2024 West Haven Hispanic American of the Year. This prestigious award was given to me not because I sought it out, but because I was recognized by my peers as someone who wants the best for this City, volunteers countless hours for the City, keeps his head down, and just does the work! This is a trend I hope to continue by serving the Citizen's of West Haven's Board of Education.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Budget shortfalls and ways to work around them.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My 10+ years working for the City of New Haven as a Project Manager, as well as my time in the private sector. I am currently working on rehabilitating 3 schools and 2 Community Centers. I sit on the Board of Directors for Creative Arts Workshop which is an Art School in New Haven, as well as Arts Council of Greater New Haven. I also sat on the Board for Neighborhood Housing Services in New Haven. This is in addition to the boards and committees I sit on in West Haven (Ethics, Citizen's Advisory, Blue Ribbon Panel which was responsible for awarding ARPA funds to West Haven area profit businesses that work in the Arts.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Say less, listen more.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I am a dedicated professional that has already given the City of West Haven many years of volunteer service. I hope to continue this tradition and make huge impacts on my community.
