West Haven Falls To Greenwich In Class LL Football Championship
The Greenwich football team won its second title in three years with a 14-0 victory over West Haven in the Class LL championship game.
NEW BRITAIN, CT — Led by quarterback M.J. D’Angelo and a dominant defense, the Greenwich football team defeated West Haven 14-0 in the Class LL championship game Saturday night at Arute Field at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain.
It was the second title in three years, and 10th overall, for third-seeded Greenwich (11-2).
For No. 5 West Haven (10-3), it was another painful loss at Arute Field after the Westies returned to the Class LL championship for the second year in a row. West Haven suffered a devastating 21-20 loss to Staples in last year’s title game after being stopped on a 2-point conversion.
