West Haven Public School Calendar For 2024-25: Key Dates To Know

WEST HAVEN, CT — The end of summer is rapidly approaching for West Haven students, and it’s once again time to prepare for the upcoming school year.

The first day of school in West Haven Public Schools is Wednesday, Aug. 28, according to the 2024-25 district school calendar.

Here are some of the other important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:

• First Day: Aug. 28
• Labor Day, no school: Sept. 2.
• Rosh Hashanah, no school: Oct. 3
• Indigenous Day, no school: Oct 14
• Election Day / Professional Development, no school for students: Nov. 5
• Veterans Day, no school: Nov. 11
• Thanksgiving Break, no school: Nov. 28-29
• Winter Recess, no school: Dec. 23 to Jan. 1
• Martin Luther King Day, no school: Jan. 20
• Winter Break, no school: Feb. 17-18
• Eid al-Fitr, no school for students; Professional Day for staff: March 31
• Spring Recess, no school: April 14-18
• Memorial Day, no school: May 26
• Tentative Last Day of School: June 11

Note: Snow days will be added on after June 11. If there are more than 5 snow days or school closings, the BOE reserves the right to amend the calendar.
