West Haven Residents Win $100K Lottery Prize

The winning ticket was sold in a nearby town, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A West Haven couple recently won $100,000 on a winning lottery ticket that was sold in Orange, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

The residents won $100,000 on a Powerball ticket that was sold at Cumberland Farms at 151 Boston Post Rd. in Orange, according to lottery officials.

The couple credited ā€œintuitionā€ for choosing the winning numbers and picking the right time to buy their ticket, according to lottery officials.

The prize originally was $50,000, but because they purchased the Power Play add-on, it doubled to $100,000. The couple plans to use the money to pay off bills, officials said.

The CT Lottery has changed its policy on announcing winners by not including the winners’ full names on the list in order to protect them from potential scams, according to officials.
