Easton Masons Travel To Gettysburg National Cemetery

Members of Ashlar Aspetuck Masonic Lodge No. 142 paid their respects to the soldiers who lay at rest at the Gettysburg National Cemetery.

On July 14, 2024 members of Ashlar Aspetuck Masonic Lodge No. 142 of Easton CT, joined by their Masonic Brothers from the Good Samaritan Masonic Lodge No. 336 Gettysburg, PA paid their respects to the soldiers who lay at rest at the Gettysburg National Cemetery. At the invitation of the Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania, Brother Anthony Nunes, a member of Ashlar Aspetuck Lodge and professional musician, had the honor of sounding taps.

Following the evening ceremony, brothers from both lodges gathered at the Friend to Friend Masonic Memorial located at the cemetery annex.

The Friend to Friend Masonic Memorial is a monument depicting the "Armistead-Bingham incident" in which Union Army Captain Henry H. Bingham assisted wounded Confederate Brigadier General Lewis Addison Armistead. Both men were Freemasons.
