Martin, having won nearly 64% of all votes cast in 2021, registered with the CT Secretary of State to continue his quest for a Weston government rooted in a centrist position of fiscal responsibility, full transparency from all boards and commissions, a solid moral compass in leadership, and a clearly rewritten and honestly followed town charter.

Martin Mohabeer commented:
“After much encouragement from many residents looking for alternatives to the two-party slate, I’ve decided to pursue the First Selectman’s position.
I’ve outlined my reasons for running on my website, www.writeinmartin.com, where I have also provided my biography, my goals, and instructions on how you can write my name on the ballot and, importantly, “fill in the bubble” to the immediate left of the “1C” in the write-in space on the third line of the ballot under “First Selectman.”
According to the Secretary of State, after filling in the “bubble”, you can write “Martin,” “Mohabeer,” or “Martin Mohabeer” in the space provided for it to count as a vote for my election.
Let me assure you that should you give me the honor of serving Weston as First Selectman, my guideposts will be an easy-to-read-and-understand Charter, full and open transparency by officials, and strong moral leadership.
There is not enough reporting on the town website. It is my strong impression that the community often feels misled, confused, and disengaged due to incomplete minutes, agendas, and lack of balanced news coverage. I pledge to build bridges between elected and appointed officials of both parties, on all boards and commissions. I also will listen carefully to the unaffiliated voters of Weston whose voices have gone largely unheard.
I envision change including robust and open discussions between elected and appointed officials of both parties on all boards and commissions, as well as listening to those who represent the largely unaffiliated voters of Weston whose voices have gone unheard.
The people of Weston urgently need better, more transparent town governance, and with my candidacy, we now have such a choice. On Tuesday, I urge Weston voters to Write In Martin for a First Selectman that will bridge differences and build a better Weston for everyone.”
