The race for governor has added another name into competition after West Hartford Republican Joe Visconti was notified that he will be on the ballot in November.

Visconti will run as an Independent after collecting the necessary 7,500 signatures in order to run. Visconti didn’t receive enough support at the GOP state convention in May to qualify for the Republican primary.

Visconti was notified by the Secretary of the State’s office via email on Wednesday that his name will appear on the ballot along with Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and Republican candidate Tom Foley.

I had no doubt that I was going to qualify,” Visconti told CTNewsJunkie.com.
